Creativity Cards

Description

So, you might see a few of my drawings and think to yourself, "This guy is really creative. I can't think of things like that." I wanted to share, that I think everyone has "unimaginative" days. Days where you can't think of what to draw, or you draw things and they all seem generic or too boring. Drawing some inspiration from "The Imagineering Workout" the the Disney Imagineers, I came up with this exercise shown above.

How to do it:
1. Get a bunch of notecards or pieces of paper, split your cards into 2 piles
2. Write a creature or character on each card of the 1st pile (examples: elf, dragon, zombie, etc...)
3. Write a description or occupation on each card of the 2nd pile (examples: scientist, ugly, horned, farmer, etc...)
4. Shuffle pile #1 and then shuffle pile #2. Then pick the first card off the top of each pile. Draw that.

As you can see by my photo, you never know what combinations you might get. And, if you really want to get crazy, you can try making 3 piles, character-type, occupation, and descriptive word, then try drawing that. This technique can also be used for writers, or other creative outlets. Hope it helps! And you can look forward to me using these cards on occasion for my drawings on here!
